Help us to save men's lives

37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the UK.
10,000 men die of the disease each year in the UK - that's one man every hour.

The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK's leading charity working with people affected by prostate cancer.  The Charity's aim is to raise awareness of prostate cancer so that everyone can talk more openly about it and people will recognise the significance of this disease.

As in 2011, we are once again encouraging all Great Weston Ride participants to use their place in the event to raise as much money as possible for The Prostate Cancer Charity.  £22,000 was raised for the Charity by riders in 2011, and we'd really like to raise even more if we can this year.

And, to encourage riders and also to show its appreciation once again, this year the Charity has come up with a double incentive for sponsored riders - anyone who raises £100 or more for the Charity (excluding Gift Aid) will receive a smart FREE 'buff' (a 'snood'-type scarf for neck or head - see image below), and any riders who go on to raise over £200 will also receive a FREE top-quality cycling jersey (2011 jersey shown below - 2012 design yet to be confirmed):

Please support this fantastic cause if you possibly can, it would be wonderful to see a sea of blue shirts again in 2012, and even better if we could set a new record fundraising total in the process!

How your fundraising will help

The Prostate Cancer Charity is fighting prostate cancer on every front - through research, support, information and campaigning. The Charity is here to help everyone affected by prostate cancer: concerned and diagnosed men, their partners, friends, and family.

The money you raise goes directly towards helping the Charity support men with prostate cancer and their families who are also affected.  It also funds essential research into improving the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

The Prostate Cancer Charity depends on people like you!  Without your sponsorship and donations they would not be able to provide these vital services to those that need them most.

How we can help you to fundraise

Once you have signed up for the Great Weston Ride please select one of the options below to help you to start the fundraising process.

The Prostate Cancer Charity will send you a fundraising pack including top fundraising tips, sponsorship forms, posters, and a form so that you can order promotional materials to help you with your fundraising.  If you select the online fundraising option you will automatically receive a fundraising pack in the post. If you would prefer to collect sponsorship offline please contact the Charity by emailing cycling@prostate-cancer.org.uk or phoning 020 8222 7158, in order to receive your pack.

NB If you choose to fundraise purely 'offline' make sure that you DO contact the charity (contact details above) to let them know and so that they can support you fully.  The Charity also obviously needs contact details in order to be able to send out your free buff and/or jersey.  Online fundraisers will be contacted automatically.
