Preparations are now underway for the 2012 Great Weston Ride on Sunday 15th July 2012, and once again our aim is to make it even bigger and better than this year's very successful event. It's a truly spectacular route, and the Ride is suitable for all sorts of riders, from complete novices to experienced, regular cyclists - it has something to offer everyone, and it's really about having fun and rising to your own personal challenge! The Great Weston Ride is a fun yet challenging recreational bike ride that offers a significant physical challenge for the cyclist AND the opportunity for a fun day out by the sea with family and friends.

The ride starts in Bristol and then weaves its way along the highways and byways of North Somerset, following a spectacular course through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels, before finally finishing on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare.

It's not a race, there's no official timing, and everyone's welcome to come along and sample the delights of the Somerset countryside en route to the coast - the objective is to enjoy the day and the sense of achievement that completing the ride will bring!

And the route itself is designed to appeal to everyone - experienced cyclists, recreational riders, commuters, and even non-cyclists who are willing to rise to a challenge. All you need is a bike, a bit of determination and a sense of adventure!
