Congratulations and a huge 'Thank You' to everyone who turned up and rode the inaugural Great Weston Ride.  We thought that it was a fantastic day and we really hope that everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did.  We'd also like to thank the many people who supported the event and without whom it would not have been possible to provide the same rider experience. The Great Weston Ride is a fun and challenging recreational bike ride that offers a significant physical challenge for the cyclist AND the opportunity for a fun day out by the sea with family and friends.

The ride starts in Bristol and then weaves its way along the highways and byways of North Somerset, following a spectacular course through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels, before finally finishing on the seafront at Weston-super-Mare.

It's not a race, there's no official timing, and everyone's welcome to come along and sample the delights of the Somerset countryside en route to the coast - the objective is to enjoy the day and the sense of achievement that completing the ride will bring!

And the route itself is designed to appeal to everyone - experienced cyclists, recreational riders, commuters, and even non-cyclists who are willing to rise to a challenge. All you need is a bike, a bit of determination and a sense of adventure!
